{Let my fail story help you! Lesson learned... check!} I am pretty sure I mentioned somewhere in an older post of my flea problem. A couple years ago I had them REALLY bad at my house but this time, honestly, I barely notice them. Unfortunately for Glen the fleas LOVE him and are always attacking his legs. {Sorry babe, I really do feel for ya} So we sprayed more this weekend and then flea treated all 6 of my animals... {Holy crap, I don't think I have ever wrote down how many animals I have! 4 cats and 2 dogs, I am still trying to get rid of one of my kittens but have been half tempted just to get rid of all my cats. I love those buggers but I can't trust them on my furniture so they have their own room downstairs... And I don't get to spend much time with them and they deserve a place that will pay attention to them and love on them more then I can... Humph, soooo hard to think about that, I know Z would be crushed... But that's an entirely diff post...} Anyways... after flea treating the animals on Monday, yesterday we decided to flea bomb my house. We used EIGHT bombs, 1 for each room, excluding the bathroom since it is too small to have it's own bomb. My lovely, oldest sister Holly helped us out A LOT {love you!} She came over with some cat carriers so I could put my cats in them and took the cats and the dogs to her house! After she left, Glen and I set all the bombs {5 upstairs and 3 downstairs} and we left. Ran to McDonald's for some food and Redbox, dropped off Z's dirty laundry at my parents, and then headed to my sisters to wait the 4 hours that we couldn't be at home.
We watched Inception and listened to the dogs whine practically the entire time we were there. After the 4 hours, Glen and I headed back to the house to let it air out for 30 minutes before actually going in. Ugh, this is when the bad news comes in. Glen walked into the office to open the windows and FLEAS were already jumping on him! {afhaskjhfkajsdhfk asdjflahdfiuyhweo rithayj;ug awawe rwuhrtlwg4tjt ahawerahserfjh! Use your imagination as to what words we were yelling.
I looked on google, basically we are just going to have to keep spraying {not a flea bomb} and lots and lots of vacuuming! Like... daily vacuuming! And the web says if you can't do it daily do it at least every 3 days. They also suggest not using the flea bombs because most times it just isn't as effective. {DOH!} So remember that folks... Your pet(s) have fleas? LOTS OF VACUUMING! I am extremely lucky I only have carpet in my bedroom and the dogs only hang out in the kitchen and far far far away from my furniture! So that is just slightly less work for me but for those of you who let your dogs sleep with you or lay on your couch... Good luck!
