Weekend Wrap Up {Very Productive}

This weekend I was a little more aware of snapping pictures as the weekend went on! So this post will definitely have A LOT of pictures. Well maybe not a lot, but more then normal! :) {Warning: The quality on most of the pics isn't the best, but that's because I was using my phone.}

This post I am going to start with Thursday, only cause I have some pictures from Thursday... So after work, Zoie and I went to Walmart to pick up some things I needed to make dinner with. We were make Portabella Burgers... Really there is no burger in it, just a big portabella mushroom stuffed with cheese and covered in a breading.

I found the recipe for these on Stumble Upon {here is the link}. I changed the recipe up a little based on our tastes and some of the stuff that I already had I substituted for other things on the recipes... So honestly, they were good... but not THAT good. They were missing something... Or maybe it was me changing some of the ingredients and also I would definitely recommend baking them rather then grilling them on the stove. {Especially since I just had to use a regular pan.} We will try to cook them again some other time but we will definitely be changing them up a bit.

Friday: Ummm, honestly... I don't remember what we did Friday. To me, Friday seems like it was soooo long ago I just really don't remember what we did. Haha. I know when I got home from work Glen had already cut down a lot of these "wild" trees I have growing everywhere. {best bf ever!} and since we are battling with some fleas cause they like to attack Glen, he sprayed my house with some flea stuff we bought AND he even sprayed the yard! {Although it didn't work exactly, we will be bombing the house on Tuesday}.

Saturday: Was Zoie and Meredith's pool birthday party. The birthday party was definitely a success!  This year we decided to combined parties with one of Zoie's best friends, since they are only a few days apart. Zoie turned 5 {obviously} and Meredith turned 6 today. I took several pictures with my camera BUT I haven't uploaded them yet... But I did upload the photos from my mom's camera on my photobucket, so here is a few pics from the party.

{My mom is the best too!}

All in all the party was a lot of fun and there was probably about 40 kids there! Trying to stuff all the kids and adults under the little roof for the birthday cake was difficult! Also, we decided to skip opening presents while at the party, we only had about 2 hours at the pool and we definitely wanted to milk that! But just wanted to say thank you to anyone who came to Z's party. It was A LOT of fun and it wouldn't have been without you!

After the party; Glen, Zo, and I played in the park with some of my friends and their kids. The kids were having a blast but after playing for a little while we headed to my mom's for Zo to open gifts. Also, my mom bought Chinese for us so we definitely decided to stay for lunch. My memory gets a little fuzzy after that. I know we made a trip to Walmart, I told Z that I hadn't bought her present out yet but after the party we would go shopping so she could pick out something that she wanted and didn't get with the other presents. Also all 3 of us ended up taking a glorious 2 hour nap! I'm pretty sure the rest of the night we hang out at the house.

Sunday: Sunday was definitely a chore day for Glen and I. My dad said he'd watch Zo for us so we could get stuff done a lot faster so on our way to my parents we stopped to get McDonald's for breakfast. After dropping Z off at my parents, Glen and I made yet ANOTHER trip to Walmart {probably the 2nd or 3rd of the weekend}. This time we were picking up stuff that would help us with our chore list. {like furnace filter, more flea stuff, and other random things}. Once we got back to my house we started busting butt to get what we could done before 3 p.m. We actually got most of the list done, we figured whatever we didn't get done we would do this week after work. I've caught up with almost all of the laundry and the living and bedroom were picked up.

When we were done with our chores we went to pick up Z. On the way home we stopped to get some taco bell. Ugh, I literally can not express how much I HATE taco bell meat. Even thinking about it makes me want to hurl, no joke! So when I am "forced" to go to taco bell, I stick with the cinnamon twists and the cheese roll ups, we took the food to the park to eat and then play. Man, it was hot! Zo always wants to play tag, thankfully Glen did most of the running, haha. But the park was short lived in Zoie fell a scrapped her leg pretty good. We went home and I bandaged her up.

Photobucket
{Took a total of 4 band aids to appease her}
{Just an fyi, I promised her I wouldn't post this picture on my facebook for people to see so don't tell her you seen it on my blog!}

After the park, I had bought some pots, top soil, and some cactus to have some easy potted plants. Hopefully I won't murder the poor little things but I will try my best! When they get big enough, they'll eventually go outside on my nonexistent patio {I will have one soon!}. Zo was definitely up for helping me put them in the pot, but wanted NOTHING to do with the top soil and getting dirty.

Photobucket
{Here at the cactus and pots I bought, just waiting to be planted!}

Photobucket
{Zoie not wanting to hold the cactus because the little pot was dirty, sheesh, such a girl!}

{Zoie waiting for Glen to come with the top soil and me with my dirty hands}
{I didn't get a pic of Glen pouring the soil but I was busy helping break it apart and getting dirty}

Photobucket
{Here our the finished plants, included with a snail shell that Glen found}

Glen put the rest of the bag of top soil in this hole I have had in my yard where a dead tree once stood, before failing on my carport a few years ago. When we were done with the plants we just watched some tv and relaxed.

I really had a fantastic weekend! Hope you did too! :)
